Administering Nexus HCM

The recurring work of keeping the application healthy and its data trustworthy.

Users and access

Add, suspend and restore users, and review who holds which role. Suspending a user ends their sessions everywhere at once. It does not remove their history, and it must not: their name is attached to documents they raised, and those documents have to keep saying so.

Periods and closing

Close a period only after reconciliation. A closed period refuses new postings, which is the whole point: it is what makes a reported figure stable enough to publish.

Data quality

Duplicate master records are the most common cause of a report nobody trusts, because a total silently splits across two records that look identical to a person. Merge them at the source rather than filtering them out of each report in turn.

Keeping current

Check the release you are on before adopting a new one, and read What's New first.
